Ragi is a staple crop in the tribal areas of the state.The conventional yields in rainfed lands range from 4 to 6 quintals per acre.The innovation in Ragi cultivation in Kharif 2017 was ZBNF + Guli Ragi. The average yield s jumped to 10 to 16 quintals per acre. This was achieved in the tribal areas of 3 districts – Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Vishakhapatnam.
But Sh. Jinnu has the unique distinction of producing 25 quintals per acre.
